Description
PK13 is special austenitic hot work steel, high chromium nickel grade with tungsten and vanadium. Service hardness of approx. 1000 N/mm2 is obtained by hammer hardened forged bellow recrystallization temperature by special heat treatment.
Applications
Extrusion dies for bars, tubes and simple profiles for copper and copper alloys, extrusion dies for steel. This steel is supplied only in the shape of individualy forged disc (please ask).

Hardening
Heat treatment is not required. This steel is supplied at service hardness of approx. 1000 N/mm2, ready for use. Preheating before use: 400-500 absolultely necessary.
Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1100-850oC.

Special feature: As the die-hole is likely to narrow under the effect of the metal flux, it will be necessary to restore its original diameter by means of a mandrel.
